SNN (ScrollingNetworkNews) ✿ ✿ Our Mel and Sydney returned to their nesting box with plenty of bonding occurring..but after 2.5 months of Sydney in the box from Dec 2013 to mid Feb 2014, the lack of prey gifts from Mel ( perhaps due to the severe and historic drought underway in California)and they have forgone the nesting process this year as many other raptors ✿ Compared to other owls of similar size, the Barn Owl has a much higher metabolic rate, requiring relatively more food. Adventures & NiteTime Antics

Boomer is in the box again today and will soon be fledged.. don't miss saying your good byes to her.


Boomer was delivered a mouse @ 9:06p and Syd tried to get her to follow and then took the treat off with her!
At 9:09p Sydney brought it back and let Boomer have it that time.
A McBite was delivered at 10:30p.
Maggie did not show up for the second night and is believed to have fledged. (sniff)
We all wish him a long and well deserved life as a wild barn owl flying free!!
