SNN (ScrollingNetworkNews) ✿ ✿ Our Mel and Sydney returned to their nesting box with plenty of bonding occurring..but after 2.5 months of Sydney in the box from Dec 2013 to mid Feb 2014, the lack of prey gifts from Mel ( perhaps due to the severe and historic drought underway in California)and they have forgone the nesting process this year as many other raptors ✿ Compared to other owls of similar size, the Barn Owl has a much higher metabolic rate, requiring relatively more food. Pound for pound, Barn Owls consume more rodents – often regarded as pests by humans – than possibly any other creature. ✿ We remind viewers that sometimes owlets may not survive - the parents will dispose of things in "The Owl Way" -viewer discretion is advised, this is nature and the "Owl way". ✿ ~ ✿ “Animals, like us, are living souls. Adventures with Mel & Sydney

Viewers were treated to an evening’s playlist that began with an overture of a Call & Response by Mel & Syd 7:10pm, 7:40, 7:45 & 7:56; Syd deeting in her sleep 8:09 to the tune of “Rock-a-bye Owlet”,

 Intermission 11:25pm, Syd left the stage; An unknown voice performing 2 solos 1:12am & 1:50; Syd spotted in the tree 1:53 staying till 1:58; & to the pitter patter of rain 3:39.


For the final movement, Syd arrived on the roof 6:20, took off to the trees 6:23 & returned 6:24 all while the ending of the instrumental, “William Tell Overture” by Gioachino Rossini was playing in the background.
