Wildlife in need of care are coming into the
Blue Ridge Wildlife Center in record numbers. This young red fox is severely infested with sarcoptic mange mites. He was seen hanging around a park with his brother, who also has mange. Both were trapped and brought to their wildlife hospital for care. It will take months of treatment to cure the mite infestation and the skin infection, and for the hair to grow back so these foxes can be released back into the wild.
