SNN (ScrollingNetworkNews) ✿ ✿ Our Mel and Sydney returned to their nesting box with plenty of bonding occurring..but after 2.5 months of Sydney in the box from Dec 2013 to mid Feb 2014, the lack of prey gifts from Mel ( perhaps due to the severe and historic drought underway in California)and they have forgone the nesting process this year as many other raptors ✿ Compared to other owls of similar size, the Barn Owl has a much higher metabolic rate, requiring relatively more food. Adventures & NiteTime Antics

Both owlets were gone from the box for over a hr. We can only guess they perhaps they were off with hunting lessons. Boomer returned first, and Mags still out hunting.
One McCritter was delivered to Boomer on the Roof where she became "Fidowler on the Roof"


Boomer returns and a flyover was seen.


There once was a chat room of owlies
Who all became best of friend powlies
They thrilled at the sight
Of the birds in the night
And cried, when they left, into towelies
