SNN (ScrollingNetworkNews) ✿ ✿ Our Mel and Sydney returned to their nesting box with plenty of bonding occurring..but after 2.5 months of Sydney in the box from Dec 2013 to mid Feb 2014, the lack of prey gifts from Mel ( perhaps due to the severe and historic drought underway in California)and they have forgone the nesting process this year as many other raptors ✿ Compared to other owls of similar size, the Barn Owl has a much higher metabolic rate, requiring relatively more food. Pound for pound, Barn Owls consume more rodents – often regarded as pests by humans – than possibly any other creature. ✿ We remind viewers that sometimes owlets may not survive - the parents will dispose of things in "The Owl Way" -viewer discretion is advised, this is nature and the "Owl way". ✿ ~ ✿ “Animals, like us, are living souls. Adventures & NiteTime Antics

Male UFO landed silently 1:36am on the porch.

He then entered the Kastle.
(hello is this thing on?)

Is this "Our Mel" or a UFO Male?.
One thing for sure is that its a Male!

After leaving the inside of the box, he stepped out & hopped to the roof. He flew off 1:46.

Same UFO returned 2:25am, landed on the smoke stack, preened then flew off 2:38am.

Returning for a 3rd time, Male UFO landed once again on the smoke stack 2:49 & looked around before flying off 2:57am OBT.

Syd landed on the porch 4:12, gingerly approached the door, looked & went in.

She stepped back to preen but seemed attentive knowing there’s a male UFO in the area. As morning progressed, she became more relaxed & took a nap. Faint deets heard 5:40am.
Syd screeched loudly 5:43 at the same time .
