Boomer standing and Mags laying down
Boomer flapping and in the far back you can see Mags face
Boomer finishes off the first treat after the hork.
Mousie at 8:22pm OBT
Not only is there a difference in their tail feather markings showing, but as you can see a vast difference in the coloring of their facial disc.
Mags (L) Boomer (R)
Female Markings: Distinctive black speckling on frontal area under wing parts & a distinctive dark penciled line around the facial disc together with an apricot colored necklace
Male Markings: Under parts & facial disc are of pure white.
Although female barn owls tend to have darker plumage and males tend to be whiter, this is only a generality and not a surefire way of determining gender.
Maggie horks at 11:19pm and at 11:20 a treat comes in.
Wow , perfect timing !
Treats coming in are so fast now its difficult knowing if its Mel or Sydney, let alone to try and get a picture.. Sorry
Another treat arrives at 12:28 going to Boomer -Gopher
