SNN (ScrollingNetworkNews) ✿ ✿ Our Mel and Sydney returned to their nesting box with plenty of bonding occurring..but after 2.5 months of Sydney in the box from Dec 2013 to mid Feb 2014, the lack of prey gifts from Mel ( perhaps due to the severe and historic drought underway in California)and they have forgone the nesting process this year as many other raptors ✿ Compared to other owls of similar size, the Barn Owl has a much higher metabolic rate, requiring relatively more food. Where it all started.. The Owl Box

Molly&McGee  - They were the  most famous Owls on the internet, Molly and McGee was featured on NBC Nightly News on a Monday Aug 7 2010 after being broadcast online through Ustream.Tv, a popular website allowing users to broadcast themselves for free.
After the national exposure on the NBC Nightly News viewership just shot through the roof thanks to her national exposure.

New words  like  'Owl-caholics' , MOD’s (Molly Obsessive Disorder) Horks, and even a lexicon from made up words used in their chat room.
There is something about watching owls, including baby owls hatching, that has caught imaginations all over this country.
It’s a sign of the times in more ways than one.
It's reality TV at its finest!
