SNN (ScrollingNetworkNews) ✿ ✿ Our Mel and Sydney returned to their nesting box with plenty of bonding occurring..but after 2.5 months of Sydney in the box from Dec 2013 to mid Feb 2014, the lack of prey gifts from Mel ( perhaps due to the severe and historic drought underway in California)and they have forgone the nesting process this year as many other raptors ✿ Compared to other owls of similar size, the Barn Owl has a much higher metabolic rate, requiring relatively more food. Pound for pound, Barn Owls consume more rodents – often regarded as pests by humans – than possibly any other creature. ✿ We remind viewers that sometimes owlets may not survive - the parents will dispose of things in "The Owl Way" -viewer discretion is advised, this is nature and the "Owl way". ✿ ~ ✿ “Animals, like us, are living souls. Contest - Pick the date

We are currently having a contest for chatters and viewers on selecting a date for the following options

1.  Mel first full day  in the Owlbox

2.  Sydney?s first full day in the Owlbox

3.  When both Mel & Sydney stay in the Owlbox.

The rules of the contest

1 entry per option is allowed.  The contest will have 2 separate time frames. The evening chatters and the morning chatters.  You must indicate on your email (chat name) whether voting as an evening or morning chatter or viewer and specify the Option Choice and the Date. Separate email for each Option. If multiple choices for a given date, they will go in hat and a name will be drawn for the date and will be the winner of a certificate.
The contest will end whenever each of the options is met.
