Pound for pound, Barn Owls consume more rodents – often regarded as pests by humans – than possibly any other creature. ✿ We remind viewers that sometimes owlets may not survive - the parents will dispose of things in "The Owl Way" -viewer discretion is advised, this is nature and the "Owl way". ✿ ~ ✿ “Animals, like us, are living souls. They are not things. They are not objects. Neither are they human. Yet they mourn. They love. They dance. They suffer. Back to the Future

UPDATE ~ After midnight we had a Owl show up briefly, looks to be Sydney. Off she went with a DEET

UPDATE on the babies by Kanga: a few are surely still around - still lots of calling from the fields which indicates that they are companion-hunting and looking for each other. At this stage, the few days difference in age is less of a factor and it could be any of the young ones who are still in the area.
Tonight was a lull in sightings nary a Deet was heard.. So lets go back in time and review our favorite  moments from Clutch One. For me one of them was the night the babies crossed that invisible line in the box and charged the door for the treat. What was yours?
Babies crossing that line
Trivia Q: Owls are able to reduce their body temperature in hot weather by "panting" through partially opened bills, What is this called ?
