Yesterday around 3:00pm, Sydney heard something outside. The babies hissed...
and Syd went out of the box for about 3 minutes to check or chase off whatever it was. If you were watching at that time, you might have heard nothing, it's possible that it could have been "Alice" the coopers hawk making another appearance to the box. (the palm cam was not streaming at the time so no outside view)
Last night was a repeat of the night before with Sydney leaving as soon as it became dark. 8:10pm
At 8:30pm, one of the parents delivered the large gopher and handed it off to Adi.
8:40pm another treat comes into the box, this time we know for sure its Sydney.. She gave the small treat to Hunter and stayed in the box.
Adi worked for over fifteen minutes on getting the treat down, she tried and tried while Syd supervised.
giving it all she could to get it down,
Syd took it from her and shredded the treat..
once it was small, Adi gave it another try and this time managed the gulp!

Sydney is spending her first day out of the box leaving the kids with half end of a rabbit, but will they know how to eat it? Perhaps Sydney’s absence will encourage them to learn to shred for themselves.
